Thanks to former Westoe Deputy Alex Smith, for permission to post his personal Mining Certificates.
Like hundreds of other North Durham Mining Trainees / Craft Apprentices, Alex did his
initial underground training at Usworth Colliery Training Centre / Gallery.
He later became a Mines Rescue Officer.
[ This certificate qualified a Young Miner to work below ground. ]
