ROMAN COINS FOUND AT WASHINGTON STATION

( Doris Terrace, 1939 )

DRAWING SHOWING 3 OF THE ROMAN COINS

In 1939, approximately 60 Roman Coins, contained in a coarse pottery vessel, were dug up in a garden
at Doris Terrace, near Washington Railway Station. This is now the location of Barmston Court.
They were said to date from 4th century AD and were displayed in Washington Old Hall.
