ANNUAL SUMMER WEEKENDS IN YORK

Ronnie Barron,  Tom Thirlaway,  Bob Brookes  &  Jim Gill

Ronnie, Tom and I were invited to stay weekends as guests of Bob and his lovely Wife, Makiko.
They had a beautiful Japanese style garden which overlooked the Main Railway Line from Newcastle to York.

Friday Night:  Drinks,  Catching Up,  Lots of Laughs,  Background Music  &  The Quiz
Saturday:  Visits / Walks in or near York followed by an Evening at a Pub.  Once to York Theatre Royal.
Sunday: Relaxing in the Garden hoping to see Steam Engines from York Railway Museum.  A Super Sunday Lunch.
Each year one of us was nominated to prepare a Quiz.  The Theatre visit was to see R.C. Sherriff's brilliant WW1 Play: Journey's End.

All four of us were Usworth / Washington Lads who were Pupils at Washington Grammar School.
Previously: Tom, Ronnie and I went to Usworth Juniors.  Bob went to Washington Glebe.
