NEWS FROM THE RIVER WEAR

" I took a short walk down to Coxgreen this morning.

The Pontoon and the Boat 'Perseverance' have been washed away in the recent rain and winds.

I enclose 2 photos, the first shows the situation last November and the second how things looked this morning.
Can these facilities be rebuilt?  I certainly hope so! "

18 MONTHS AFTER THE STORMS

" There are now no Pontoons whatsoever on the River Wear at Coxgreen.
Such a sad sight compared to my photos taken years ago! "

What a Sad Sight!

NEWS FROM THE RIVER WEAR

" I had a walk along the riverbank at Deptford this morning.

Found the Perseverance lying on the south side of the river close to Webster's Ropery.

How ironic that the mooring ropes failed to keep the Boat at Coxgreen and it ended up beside the World's Oldest Patent Ropery!
There is no sign of the Pontoon. "

18 MONTHS LATER

" The Perseverance is still lying on the riverbank beside Webster's Ropery. "
